Plansee Group is expanding in Asia - PMG builds plant in China

The newly founded subsidiary, PMG Shanghai Fengxian Co. Ltd, will manufacture powder metallurgically produced components for motors and chassis. Michael Krehl, Co-President of the PMG Group, explains the importance of the investment: "Our customers are important players in the growing Chinese automotive industry. By supplying them with locally manufactured PM parts, we will help them to be more successful. "

Once the first construction phase is finished, the plant should achieve annual sales of 12 million euros, and will employ over 100 people. Michael Krehl: "In the second phase we will quickly increase production capacities - provided a favorable market development."

For Plansee Group the new plant is the ninth production company in Asia. Michael Schwarzkopf, chairman of the executive board of Plansee Group says: "With this step we will employ almost 2,000 people in Asia." At the same time Schwarzkopf announced further expansion projects: "The other divisions of Plansee Group will always develop their activities in Asia."

The PMG Group, a leading global supplier of powder metallurgical (PM) products for the automotive industry, has 2,500 employees and annual sales of 350 million euros. It has twelve manufacturing plants and sales offices spread across Europe, America and Asia. PMG is a joint venture of Mitsubishi Materials Corporation and the Austrian-based Plansee Group.
