Retrospective on the 16th Plansee Seminar
On Friday, June 3, 2005 the final session of the 16th Plansee Seminar was declared “closed” after a week densely filled with oral and poster presentations, and with spirited interchanges of novel ideas, technical concepts and experimental results.
Approximately 500 participants from 33 countries have taken part in the conference. A total of 95 lectures and 112 posters covering the fields of high-melting metals and hard materials have been presented.
The major part of the contributions is contained in the first 2 volumes of the Proceedings, handed out at the start of the Seminar. The 3rd volume will go into print in August and will be distributed to all participants by October 2005. Separate sets of the Proceedings may be ordered using the form provided on this homepage (see “Proceedings”).
Once again our thanks go to all who have participated in the 16th Plansee Seminar and contributed to its success signaled by the highly positive feedback.
We are sincerely looking forward to welcoming you again – and also those of you who could not make it this time – at the 17th Plansee Seminar, which is foreseen to be held 4 years from now, in May 2009.
